City Council

The Council is a legislative body that governs a city, town, municipality or local government area.

The City Council should act as a liaison between the city and the residents. 

The Board of Aldermen or City Council serve a two (2) year term.  The Board of Aldermen select a council member to be "Acting President of the Board" for the term of one (1) year.  

The City has four (4) council members who are each elected for a two-year term and the mayor is elected for a two-year term.  

To run for City Council you must first be a resident of the city for a minimum of one (1) year, have no felony convictions, a citizen of the United States and be 21 years of age.
